Collective Action for Child Protection & Anti-Trafficking | Ranchi, Jharkhand | 25–26 June 2025
Over two impactful days in Ranchi, Ramola Bhar Charitable Trust – Project STOP actively contributed to two critical convenings focused on strengthening cross-regional anti-trafficking coordination and advancing Jharkhand’s child labour elimination strategy.
1. ATSEC India Members’ Meet
Date: 25 June 2025
Venue: Bal Kalyan Samiti (BKS), Ranchi
Participants: Representatives from ATSEC member states—Delhi, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tripura, Bihar, and Jharkhand
The convening focused on organizational strengthening within the ATSEC network, with key discussions on leadership terms, governance reforms, and operational clarity.
Ms. Smritikana Ghosh Paul, Senior Programme Manager at STOP, played a leading role in steering discussions. Drawing from STOP’s pan-India programme experience, she emphasized the importance of transparent leadership, structural reform, and enhanced coordination among member organizations.
2. State Symposium on Child Labour Elimination in Jharkhand
Date: 26 June 2025
Venue: Courtyard by Marriott, Ranchi
Participants: 100+ stakeholders from state departments, industry, trade unions, civil society, academia, youth groups, and international organizations
The event marked the formal launch of the Jharkhand State Plan of Action (2025–2030), grounded in the ILO’s Tripartite Plus model, encouraging multi-sector collaboration.
As an expert panellist, Ms. Ghosh Paul brought STOP’s field-based expertise into focus, highlighting:
- The value of grassroots research in shaping responsive policy
- The critical role of community-based organizations in implementing state plans
- The need to bridge lived experiences with institutional mechanisms
STOP’s engagement across both events reaffirmed its commitment to:
- Strengthening anti-trafficking coalitions
- Promoting evidence-based policy advocacy
