The quarterly Teacher’s Spot Test was successfully conducted on March 11, 2025, showcasing the academic acumen and teaching proficiency of educators across multiple disciplines. This edition of the test featured seven dedicated contenders, each demonstrating commendable knowledge and passion for their subjects.

The comprehensive assessment spanned five core subjects, designed to evaluate subject mastery, pedagogical approach, and analytical skills. After a competitive round, Ms. Manpreet Kaur emerged as the first prize winner, standing out with her exceptional performance and insightful responses.

The award ceremony was graced by Mr. Amitava Bhattacharyya, Retired IAS officer, Ex-Central Information Commissioner, and Advisor to STOP, who honored Ms. Kaur with a certificate and a token of appreciation for her remarkable achievement. His presence and words of encouragement added great value to the event.

The Teacher’s Spot Test continues to be an inspiring platform conducted every three months, aimed at recognizing and encouraging educational excellence among teaching professionals. Congratulations to all participants, and special applause to Ms. Manpreet Kaur for her well-deserved victory!

On 8th March 2025, 90 students from classes 5th to 8th of STOP’s Tigri and Tughlakabad Education Centers, participated in an educational excursion to explore key landmarks in Delhi. They were accompanied by 15 staff members, including Paul Heeren (PhD in Astrophysics), Shirine Marian T. (Project Coordinator), Sakshi Gaur (Psychological Counsellor), Mamta Gopal, and Gulnuma (Centre In-charges). Teachers Manpreet, Mansha, Mehjabeen, Preeti, Soniya, Deepika, and Kashish, along with field workers Rani and Afreen, also guided the students.

The trip began with a visit to the Nehru Planetarium, where Paul Heeren engaged the students with insights into celestial bodies, space exploration, and technological advancements in astronomy. Interactive displays and videos sparked the students’ curiosity about the universe.

Next, the students visited the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya (Prime Minister’s Museum), where they explored galleries showcasing India’s political history and the contributions of various prime ministers. Teachers enriched the experience by sharing key facts about India’s political journey.

After refreshments, the group visited India Gate, where teachers explained its significance as a memorial for soldiers who died in World War I.

The excursion was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, deepening the students’ knowledge of space, history, and culture while creating lasting memories.

The Founder of Ramola Bhar Charitable Trust and Managing Trustee of STOP, Ms. Roma Debabrata, was invited as a panellist and felicitated by the Mohanji Foundation on the 8th of March, 2024, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, in the India International Centre. The organization STOP was also represented by Senior Programme Manager, Smritikana Ghosh Paul, and Documentation Officer, Narayani Bhattacharya. Roma Ma’am spoke on the raging topic of women’s empowerment, highlighting education as the key tool to open the doors to create meaningful lives. She stressed upon the fact that education gives knowledge, power, and a sound understanding of all the benefits of schemes given by the government for women and children. Empowerment would not be complete without women being able to make informed decisions and knowing about their rights and benefits. The panel discussions ended with a vote of thanks from the Foundation to all the panellists and audiences gathered there.

Invitation to Mohanji Foundation

STOP NGO was invited and represented by Senior Programme Manager, Smritikana Ghosh Paul and Field Coordinator, Poonam Choudhary at an event named “Delhi Domestic Violence Stakeholder Summit, 2025, First Edition”, organized by Invisible Scars Foundation, at Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi, on the 1st of March, 2025. Smritikana Ghosh Paul appeared as a panellist, speaking on the concept of “Safe Shelters” for women affected adversely by Domestic Violence. She spoke upon people’s lack of awareness about Safe Shelters on one hand and about the lackadaisical approach of Safe Shelters when it comes to updating the sheltered victims about their legal processes and rights. The programme was well received by an audience with a keen interest in understanding the “safety” of such shelters offered to victims in distress.

 On the 4^th of February, 2025, STOP was invited by the British High Commission for a consular reception. STOP was represented by Smritikana Gosh Paul, Senior Programme Manager, and Narayani Bhattacharya, Documentation Officer. The representatives established long standing networks and contacts with many civil bodies gathered in the said event. Various delegates from different embassies and prominent people who still help people in distress, especially people suffering from violence and human trafficking. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks from a representative of the British High Commission.

An Effective Communication Workshop, held at STOP’s Tigri Community, on the 14^th of January, 2025, aimed to equip students with vital communication skills through engaging activities. Welcoming an audience of around 30 students from the 6^th to the 9^th class were STOP’s Team members, Sakshi Gaur and Shirine Marian Tigga. It began with an introduction to active listening, where students practiced paraphrasing and participated in the “Sit and Jump” activity to enhance attentiveness. Non-verbal communication was explored next, focusing on body language, gestures, and eye contact. Students enacted scenarios using only non-verbal cues to understand its impact. The final segment emphasized verbal communication, highlighting clarity and relevance. A dialogue exchange activity allowed students to practice concise, dynamic conversations in English. Hands-on activities made the session interactive and educational, fostering a deeper appreciation for effective communication’s role in academic and professional success.

The children of STOP’s Community in Tughlakabad celebrated the Republic Day on the 24th of January, 2025. The pride in their hearts for their country showed bright on their joyful faces!

On the 22nd of January, 2025, STOP collaborated with the VLCC Pitampura Beautician’s and Nutrition’s Teams to give live trainings to the Community women in Tughlakabad. The team of Beauticians gave a day long session on different hairstyling techniques and grooming each hair according to its own unique style, length and texture. An audience of almost 200 women gathered around, eager to watch the experts at work, curating wonderful looks by grooming different types of hair into varied styles. The team of Nutrition Experts took numerous sessions focused upon different diet types, according to each stage of life women go through, like menstruation, pregnancy, etc., as well as the situation(s) they are in, for instance as part of the working population, or as homemakers. They even gave one-to-one counselling sessions for some women. Together, both the Teams handled each and every question from the inquisitive audience not just with answers, but also with live demonstrations and examples.
