Vocational Training at Tughlakabad

STOP is proud to share the remarkable achievements of the young women from our Tughlakabad Community who have successfully completed their Beautician vocational training under the expert guidance of Ms. Munmun Sarkar, STOP’s dedicated Skill Trainer.

As part of the course, the girls showcased their talents in makeup artistry, with Nancy leading the way in Bridal Makeup. Puja, Amreen, Muskan, Muskan, Neha, and Chanda, not only did their own makeup but also extended a helping hand to their teammates—truly reflecting teamwork and growth.

The training syllabus included:

  • Skin care and analysis
  • Waxing and threading techniques
  • Manicure and pedicure
  • Bridal and occasion-based makeup
  • Facial and hair treatments
  • Equipment handling and hygiene protocols

This hands-on training has equipped them with real-world beauty skills and boosted their confidence to pursue independent careers.

Kudos to all our aspiring beauticians! We are thrilled to see them blossom into skilled professionals.

Two-Day Consultation & Strategy Meeting on Human Trafficking Prevention

A significant Two-Day Consultation and Strategy Meeting was held on March 25-26, 2025, at Ashok Country Resort, Kapashera Border, New Delhi. This meeting aimed to develop a Specific Work Activity Plan for ATSEC Member Countries for 2025. A total of 30 participants, including 21 from ATSEC Regional Chapters (India), inclusive of 5 online participants, engaged in in-depth discussions on human trafficking, exploitation, and prevention strategies.

The meeting brought together a dynamic mix of experts, social activists, and organizational representatives, both in-person and virtually. The consultation was structured around four key themes on the first day, addressing various dimensions of human trafficking and exploitation:

  1. Prevention and Collaborative Strategy – Strengthening collective efforts to combat trafficking.
  2. Trafficking & Sexual Exploitation of Migrants – Addressing the vulnerabilities of migrant populations.
  3. Digital Exploitation – Tackling cyber-enabled trafficking and exploitation.
  4. The Rise of Voluntourism and Exploitation of Children – Examining the impact of unethical tourism on vulnerable children.

On the second day, recommendations and suggestions from the participants led to the birth of ATSEC-Action Plan.

Through detailed discussions, case studies, and strategic recommendations, this meeting fostered collaborative efforts to develop impactful interventions against human trafficking for 2025. The event underscored the critical role of cross-border collaboration in addressing modern-day exploitation and ensuring justice for survivors.

State-Level Workshop, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, 2025

STOP organized a State Level One-Day Workshop to Address Gender Inequality and Eliminate Barriers that Prevent Women from Reaching their Full Potential” on the 19th of March, 2025, in Dehradun. The purpose of this meeting was to develop state level safety mechanisms for women and children. STOP warmly welcomed 30 grassroots level organizations and arranged the event into four sessions, each covering a vital aspect of gender inequality and helping women in distress reach their full potential. Teacher’s Spot Test: Celebrating Excellence in Education- March, 2025

The quarterly Teacher’s Spot Test was successfully conducted on March 11, 2025, showcasing the academic acumen and teaching proficiency of educators across multiple disciplines. This edition of the test featured seven dedicated contenders, each demonstrating commendable knowledge and passion for their subjects.

The comprehensive assessment spanned five core subjects, designed to evaluate subject mastery, pedagogical approach, and analytical skills. After a competitive round, Ms. Manpreet Kaur emerged as the first prize winner, standing out with her exceptional performance and insightful responses.

The award ceremony was graced by Mr. Amitava Bhattacharyya, Retired IAS officer, Ex-Central Information Commissioner, and Advisor to STOP, who honored Ms. Kaur with a certificate and a token of appreciation for her remarkable achievement. His presence and words of encouragement added great value to the event.

The Teacher’s Spot Test continues to be an inspiring platform conducted every three months, aimed at recognizing and encouraging educational excellence among teaching professionals. Congratulations to all participants, and special applause to Ms. Manpreet Kaur for her well-deserved victory!

Educational Excursion of STOP’s Students, 2025

On 8th March 2025, 90 students from classes 5th to 8th of STOP’s Tigri and Tughlakabad Education Centers, participated in an educational excursion to explore key landmarks in Delhi. They were accompanied by 15 staff members, including Paul Heeren (PhD in Astrophysics), Shirine Marian T. (Project Coordinator), Sakshi Gaur (Psychological Counsellor), Mamta Gopal, and Gulnuma (Centre In-charges). Teachers Manpreet, Mansha, Mehjabeen, Preeti, Soniya, Deepika, and Kashish, along with field workers Rani and Afreen, also guided the students.

The trip began with a visit to the Nehru Planetarium, where Paul Heeren engaged the students with insights into celestial bodies, space exploration, and technological advancements in astronomy. Interactive displays and videos sparked the students’ curiosity about the universe.

Next, the students visited the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya (Prime Minister’s Museum), where they explored galleries showcasing India’s political history and the contributions of various prime ministers. Teachers enriched the experience by sharing key facts about India’s political journey.

After refreshments, the group visited India Gate, where teachers explained its significance as a memorial for soldiers who died in World War I.

The excursion was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, deepening the students’ knowledge of space, history, and culture while creating lasting memories.

Invitation to Mohanji Foundation

The Founder of Ramola Bhar Charitable Trust and Managing Trustee of STOP, Ms. Roma Debabrata, was invited as a panellist and felicitated by the Mohanji Foundation on the 8th of March, 2024, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, in the India International Centre. The organization STOP was also represented by Senior Programme Manager, Smritikana Ghosh Paul, and Documentation Officer, Narayani Bhattacharya. Roma Ma’am spoke on the raging topic of women’s empowerment, highlighting education as the key tool to open the doors to create meaningful lives. She stressed upon the fact that education gives knowledge, power, and a sound understanding of all the benefits of schemes given by the government for women and children. Empowerment would not be complete without women being able to make informed decisions and knowing about their rights and benefits. The panel discussions ended with a vote of thanks from the Foundation to all the panellists and audiences gathered there.

First Phase of APPI Trainings, 2025

STOP  has conducted workshops with the support of Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI) in the month of February, dealing with topics mentioned below:

An audience of around 60 women gathered to participate in these trainings filled with activities and live engagement from them. They participated with great enthusiasm and spoke publicly upon the learnings they took from each topic and how they would spread awareness about the same in their families, neighbourhoods and eventually the wider society.

Invitation to Delhi Domestic Violence Stakeholder Summit, 2025, First Edition

STOP NGO was invited and represented by Senior Programme Manager, Smritikana Ghosh Paul and Field Coordinator, Poonam Choudhary at an event named “Delhi Domestic Violence Stakeholder Summit, 2025, First Edition”, organized by Invisible Scars Foundation, at Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi, on the 1st of March, 2025. Smritikana Ghosh Paul appeared as a panellist, speaking on the concept of “Safe Shelters” for women affected adversely by Domestic Violence. She spoke upon people’s lack of awareness about Safe Shelters on one hand and about the lackadaisical approach of Safe Shelters when it comes to updating the sheltered victims about their legal processes and rights. The programme was well received by an audience with a keen interest in understanding the “safety” of such shelters offered to victims in distress.
