On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Farcap, a fair trade clothing brand in Germany, organized a global conference celebrating women entrepreneurs from across the globe. Prof. Roma Debabrata founder president, STOP was invited to lead the discussion on how women from marginalised backgrounds can rise up and not just fulfil their financial needs but also help fellow women who are facing similar challenges.

A master trainers Ms. Sonali also participated in the event and discussed their journey and challenges as well as collectively deliberated over the various areas to improve for achieving women empowerment.

On 10^th March, 2021, STOP was invited by the National Commission for Women to celebrate internal women’s day by acknowledging contribution of men in success of women. The events had men narrate their stories and role in success of women in their lives. The event was aimed at changing a common perception that only women support successful men.

The aim to establish that even men can be supportive in women’s growth well resonated with the idea of women empowerment and gender equality.

In November, 2020, STOP was approached by Enactus (Global Youth Development Organization) Aryabhatta College seeking collaboration under Project Palaash. As part of the project, three training sessions were conducted with members of the community from November to February. Under the training structure, beneficiaries from community were taught various designs on tie and dye, ombre, etc. Marigold flower, madder roots and tea leaves were used as main ingredient in the making of dye. The products made by the beneficiaries of STOP will be marketed by Enactus Aryabhatta team on different online platforms. Both the organizations plan to scale up the partnership by collaborating for production of home decor items, T-shirts and other apparels.  

On 31^st January, members of STOP Trafficking and Oppression of children & women were invited by the National Commission for women to celebrate its 29^th Founder’s Day and felicitate women corona warriors from across the nation. On the occasion, STOP represented the contribution by NGO’s in extending help and support to the marginalised people living in difficult situations. The occasion was graced and addressed by Hon’ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of State, MoSJE & M/o Jal Shakti, Shri Rattan Lal Kataria and Ms. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission for Women.

Hon’ble guests discussed women across various fields taking lead and charge to address issues experienced in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. Various government policies and initiatives taken by the NCW to address complaints of women and elderly persons were also discussed.

On 18th May, STOP as a member of the National Task Group organized a round-table organized  for combating sexual exploitation of children (SEC) in India, with the purpose of identifying organizations, networks, coalitions and associations who can be a part of the coalition against SEC in India. The objectives of the round-table are:

• to map out organizations working in sexual exploitation of children or related areas,  at the local, regional and national level;
• to identify potential alliances, existing networks and movements those could be potential partners to form a wider cross-cutting network ;
• to identify and prioritize issues of sexual exploitation of children at the local, regional and national level. 

The round table was attended by Rescue Foundation, NDWM, JWP, FXBIS, Udayan Care, Prayas, Shakti Vahini, AIWC, and Delhi Social Welfare Board.

The members discussed the future plan to address the sustainability of the coalition. members also discussed steps needed to be taken to create a better response structure to the issues surrounding Sexual Exploitation of Children arising due to wide spread use of technology and various external influences.
